Who Should Come
Empowercamp's "target demographic" is humans. If you are interested in learning and sharing with other enthusiasts, geeks, empowered, wogs, toy soldiers, techies, futurists, musicians, activists and do gooders, you'll have fun.
CONTACT & RSVP: Email info@empowerthyself.com if you want to attend and reply to this event with a comment about your RSVP plans.
What to bring
Presentations: Empowercamp is a place for show and tell. Bring interesting topics, tools and technology for presentation, discussion and feedback. There will be fire spinning so if you have fire spinning tools, bring them.
Visual Aids: If you are giving a talk, it is a good idea to bring a visual aid. Bring something to hand out, a powerpoint presentation, a visual poster, something to pass around, anything to give people something to see and touch while they listen.
Food: Lunch will be a potluck so if you have some food and drinks, bring it. Barcamp and the Uber Dance Party at midnight are both BYOB so bring your drinks.
Friends: Bring your friends, especially your brilliant basement dweller geek friends with big brains.
Camping Gear: If you want to spend the night, bring whatever you need: sleeping bags, pillows, blankets and even tents for building sweet indoor forts. Pictured Right: Intense meta-tents within tents at Barcamp San Diego
YOU CAN PRESENT AT EMPOWERCAMP
EmpowerCamp is a participant-driven event and you can present at EmpowerCamp! Your talk can be as short as 10 minutes plus 5 minutes Q&A or longer in 15 minute session increments.
You can talk about just about anything but if you want some inspiration here are some suggested categories:
Present An Idea: Are you really passionate about something you believe in? Here's your chance to spread it and Present about it.
Teach A Skill: Do you know how to do something cool that you can show others how to do? Teach a class!
Present A Group: Are you part of a cool group that is doing something interesting? Share it and recruit!
Present A Technology: Are you excited about an interesting or emerging technology? Show us how it works.
Take on the Present At EmpowerCamp mission if you'd like to propose your talk in advance.
