Copiloting
Copiloting is almost more important than driving because the copilot directs the driver. Copilots plan routes, give directions, spot objectives and keep the driver focused on the road.
Training New Copilots
If you are a driver embarking on a trip, it is helpful to brief your copilot on their responsibilities so they can perform their role in making the trip a success.

I make a point of briefing my shotgun riding passenger what is expected of them so that our mission will not be made of fail. I also try to be a good copilot when riding with another driver. My iPhone comes in handy because I can get maps from anywhere to anywhere and look things up on the Net.
