The event tent is optimal for covering outdoor tabling activities and other activist events. It is a human-carryable light shelter that sets up in seconds or minutes. An event tent is must-have kit for any serious event organizer.

Lighting is an essential. It is very dark inside of a fully enclosed shelter at night. You need batteries and lights to illuminate things. You need an overnight source to power computers during the evening or you need a strict policy of daylight hour maximization which is difficult in the winter months. You probably need the steel shelters to withstand Burning Man’s stronger winds.

• SETUP: 1-10 minutes for 2 people, 5 minutes for 1 person. Legs fold out. Pull-rings telescope up. TAKEDOWN: Same. . Difficulty. You must rotate from pole to pole making incremental adjustments to compensate for the lack of teamwork.
• Step-by-step:
• WARNING: Tie up at 20 MPH. 40 MPH wind will bend and fold. Lack of insulation and heating. Use side ramping for wind and equipment storage. Flapping becomes unbearable. combine them into blocks to resist.
• CARRY: Black roll bag w/ front pocket. Wear gloves. Trust me.
• SIDES: 3 walls, 1 zipper door wall.

• CUSTOMIZATION: Add removeable custom signage on walls. and overhead. Add 10x10’ black or gray tarp ($10) for a clean flooring at outdoor events or camping. Jack up the legs to increase height. Combine multiple smaller audio systems into a unified sound system. Augment spikes with longer rebar but you may need to enlarge the hole. Up to 35MPH. Make sure you get gloves to protect your hands for hauling the abrasive nylon handle.
