Ideas are hard to divide into neatly defined categories because they are often both interconnected like a network and classified under hierarchies.
Instinctual Ideas
There are a number of ideas that arise from instinctual impulses. Although these drives are innate rather than learned, they still operate as ideas in that they interact with other ideas along similar lines.
Learned Ideas
Humans excel beyond all other animals at learning new ideas and behaviors. The human facility for sharing and imitating learned ideas has spawned the cultural and technological wonders of modern civilization as well as the horrors of war and tyrannical ideologies like fascism.

These Catagories
I do not have a problem with this taxonomy. I just wanted to make real sure that these are what we want to use before I start adding ideas to 'em. Since musical ideas isn't under media ideas I'm guessing that this is pretty much a placeholder list but some of the categories seem pretty good.
The memetic lexicon catagories might be interesting to use as well...

There's closer to 1000 ideas to input once I get things working
The Ideapedia is going to become a real madhouse once we get all the ideas in and users battling over them.
I'm not inputting the ideas yet till I get the featureset worked out to know exactly what data each idea should have and how it should be connected up.
