Alcohol DOSPEC? good question
I was just about to do a write-up for Trader Joes two-buck chuck Charles Shaw wine. I think it is a cheap drinkable DOSPEC wine for serving at social events with activities like Toasts To Freedom.
I used the promise of free cake and wine to lure audience members to my Barcamp presentations.
I also know Vegan straight-edge hardcore kids who regard absolutely all drugs as anathema.
My opinion is that many kinds of doing are not for everyone. Since alcoholic beverage is a useful thing to serve at some social events it can be designated as DOSPEC for those who choose to use it responsibly.
Addiction and abuse are often connected to weakness and apathy and this is as true for video game binging as it is for alcoholism.
DOSPEC
<twocents>Occasionally I use small amounts of drink as a great social lubricant. I know not everyone likes this approach and I encourage those of those who don't to share their own models of loosening the inhibitions in the right situation. Also, wouldn't it suck if you couldn't have aftershave or cologne? What about food extracts? Everything has it's purposes and abuse of just about anything is possible. Also, I would be a little pissed off if someone's extreme views about substances created a barrier to communicating and interacting. I've not had the pleasure of meeting many straight-edge or even many vegans (farm town, here) although those who I have met were generally pleasant about their beliefs and didn't rain on my parade had I been imbibing.</twocents>
entirely up to environment
Simple answer
Both.
I don't think we yet have a way to have an item fit in multiple categories, without repeating the listing, do we?
