I'm feeling pretty together, today.

Over the last 2 days I have stripped down the studio, rewired it, tidied it, sorted out the equipment and repositioned everything.

On the digital side, our shows have been brought up to date, reorganised and generally sorted out. I produced a new 'tales from the afternow' type audio book episode, and wrote, played and recorded the music for it.

We now have Skype capability, meaning that anyone from anywhere in the world can call in and help present a show!

V.V.Cool Hopfully we'll get some interesting guest presenters as a result.

Basically, I get empowered, then I empower others.

The only downer was that my server died on me, but the shows are still available from a number of sources.

I'm feeling empowered too

I just rewired my studio at the Infoshop with XBox 360 Rock Band controllers added to my studio setup and recorded a song with them! More details in my blog and to come but it feels gooood. Soon I'll have lots of updates for the site on what's been happening and what's next for Empowerment.

Quoted for great truth

"Basically, I get empowered, then I empower others."

Having the ability to empower others, and the willingness to do so, is perhaps one of the most self empowering and rewarding things I can think of.  Helping others is a great natural high.

SB Infoshop= pinnacle of empowerment

I think that the SB Infoshop (also the Empowerment HQ) is a pretty empowering place. There's always radical, awesome, productive, inspired people working on projects or taking breaks to cook food (that's all we really do anyways, right?). It's also a place for helping others, so it pretty much just rocks at housing the things I like/care about the most. The only thing that would make it better would be if there was a less than 3:1 ratio of men to women. I'm sure all involved in the empowerment would be glad that the hactivist:primitivist ratio has severely decreased since Alex's arrival into the house!

cool

I think it's really interesting that there seems to be a bit of an upswell in people making media and revelling in their 'independent' status, rather than making big bucks from their ideas.

I have come to believe that you can be anything you want to, as long as you can divorce what you produce from the need to make money from your ideas.

That concept has given me the freedom to really get on with my numerous projects.

Journalism was always meant to be a labor of love until ads came

Information wants to be free and integrity is the basis of a journalist's credibility so it is only natural that we now use the technology to make indy media the mainstream and corrupt media as obsolete as the printing press that gave it its economic advantage.
