Opinions on Anonymous' demonstration against Scientology
Around the world today the loosely knit community of Anonymous held demonstrations outside dozens of churches, protesting the Church of Scientology's beliefs and practices. I watched the demonstration here from a coffee shop whilst writing a paper. The protest seemed reasonable and nonviolent and they had plenty of material to give to the pasing public. The few protestor's I talked to were very nice and very genuine.
I'm curious as to what everyone thought about these demonstrations and if there was anything we could learn from them? Did you go, why or why not? If so, what was it like?
I will be sure to share my own opinion on my blog as soon as my thoughts coalesce and my paper resembles something a tad more respectable. But in the meantime I want to know everyone's thoughts!

The protest was very interesting. I looked into Anonymous though

The protest was very interesting. I looked into Anonymous though and found that a lot of the things they've done are just silly troll pranks. Their campaign against Scientology is hilarious and inspiring, but the rest of their LULZ are a dissapointment. This is not a brilliant counterculture movement so much as a troll group that finally picked a target that actually deserves the criticism and opposition. When aimed at a criminal cult, Anonymous seems brilliant.
I think that much can be
The Media LOLZ
I finally found out about this and watched some things about it, read a little. I think that it is a really great thing, though I'm afraid it may be short-lived. I think they will get bored of it and move on to less cool things. I was amused and pretty unhappy at the same time at how the media portrayed it. I was hoping for once they would try to take a different angle. I'm hoping that 60 minutes will do something on it that is actually leaning in the right direction. Why does scientology have to be so "secret"? No one really seems to know anything about it. It screams cult if you ask me. Though I'm sure no one will, haha. I think it might be refreshing for the pubic to know something about these people.
