Empowerment University
Here is an extreme claim.
A collective of people who are focused on personal empowerment are more qualified to create educational resources than the WHOLE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION.
Home school folks are almost universally better educated than public school folks. We can BE the support network that provides the resources to bring anyone with the desire to meet and exceed this educational level.
This group wants to get started on this vauge and obviously in need of being reworded goal.
In the process of processing technology you get invauable training and work experience.

People learn things well when they learn it hands on in a practical environment.
This means that volenteer staff that process eWaste receive invaluable job traning while they help process eWaste in preperation of cost recovery and craftivist applications

Agent Pugsly’s personal idea (something Agent Pugsly believes) posted by Agent Pugsly Fri, 2008-02-22 10:00It would be interesting to include all subject matter from introductonary to advanced material in the same book but with different colored text or text background's to delimit information of different catagories. This would allow an overacheiver or naturally interested person to easily research more in-depth into a subject if they wanted but would also make it easy for someone to just go over the materials that they need to complete their education track if they wished.
As an example a historical event could have a basic summary (middle school level) and then a more indepth analysis (high school level) and then a breakdown of sociocultural and resouce causes and implications (college level) all in the same chapter.

Traditional textbooks that are used in American schools have varying degree of qualities. In many cases there is generally one type or more political or religious bias that skews the information that s included. Historical summaries are generally extremely misleading and mathmatics training materials are less and less effective.
Middle and High School aged people who are interested in Empowerment are in a unique postion to suppliment their current learning curriculum with independent information. We can and should provide this kind of supplimental information to help them make the time spent in classes more effective. This is also a good chance to provide a more realistic view of historical events as well as provide good materials for working with costudents as loose collectives of individuals attempting to be more effective at learning.
Each catagory needs to have an objectives summary that clearly defines what key topics are covered in the entire public school curriculum. These key points should be the framework for the individual subject book.
Each catagory should be intended to work as their own independent book (eg. life sciences | social sciences). The entire project should cover the series of books that cover all key points.
Each book should also include a sources book that has as many of the original source materials possible.
