How do I post an event?

I wanted to post the event dates for the Bored of UC Regents convergence in July and Think Outside the Bomb convergence this Aug.

Please? I've looked around the site for a button for it, but I can't find it. Am I allowed to add an event?

open up the "post something new" menu on the left

If you open up the "post something new" menu on the left sidebar, its about half way down, "Post an event"

It has the same icon as the "more" button below the upcoming events.

I had the post something new folder collapsed and didn't notice its existance. Thanks.
