This gateway monitor has a bad backlight or inverter board.  It comes on, but after about a second the backlight goes out.  Image is still visible after the light goes out.

 

According to the Lumen Labs database this monitor is a find candidate for using in a DIY overhead projector.  Maybe this is my last peice needed for the multitouch?
