Book Design

"Empower Thyself"Participating designers can critique and contribute original designs. The book should have some strong consistent styles throughout, but there is also a place for visual variety to make reading interesting.

Design Principles

  • The current book layout is bland but clear and compact for ease of editability. As sections mature, their designs will be ratcheted up.
  • The introduction chapter will be the first to receive an elaborate graphic treatment as it is the most philisophical and image intensive.
  • Pages are two columns with a concise spacing and smaller font size for detailed informational pages

Design Collaboration Process

  • Unfortunately, MediaWiki currently isn't accepting PDFs so upload JPGs of layouts instead for the time being
  • List your uploads here along with explanations
  • In future, a more formalized process will exist for designing particular sections along with their excerpt management
  • Eventually the master Adobe InDesign files for each section will be posted to work on and "remix"

Uploaded Design Ideas

Got an idea for visual layout? You can contribute layouts, type styles, font suggestions, logos, whole designed sections based on Wiki article content, or whatever else your imagination comes up with.
