"Duct tape is like The Force. It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together."
Duct tape is essential to sticking things together for repairing broken things or crafting new ones.
Compress Your Rolls
Duct tape is sold in rolls that have an inner diameter of about 6.6cm/3". That's 3 inches of wasted space in your pack. You can compress your rolls of duct tape into smaller rolls that fit in your pocket and wallet.
For example: A 4.1" roll of duct tape with a 3" hole in the middle compresses down to just 2" diameter of solid, space-efficient tape.
You can also compress it down into multiple smaller rolls instead of converting a single large roll into a single compressed roll. Thus you could produce 3 1" rolls instead.
Just spool the tape off and roll it around itself. A round core stick isn't required, but if you have a round stick to break off at the right length, it will help keep your initial roll round. Be careful to align your roll so that it doesn't swerve wide or contain wrinkles.
