Black and gray striped ties are also very smart looking.

How To Tie a Windsor Knot

The Windsor Knot is a thick, wide and triangular tie knot that projects confidence, making it the knot of choice for serious work. It looks best with spread collar shirts and long necks.

To tie the Windsor Knot, select a tie of your choice and stand in front of a mirror. Then simply follow the steps below:

  1. Wide end extends 12” below narrow. Cross wide over narrow.
  2. Bring wide end up through loop behind tie then back down.
  3. Pull wide underneath narrow and to left, back through loop and to left again. Wide end is inside out.
  4. Bring wide end across front from left to right.
  5. Pull wide end up through loop again.
  6. Bring wide end down through the knot in front.
  7. Tighten knot carefully using both hands and draw up to collar.
  8. Ensure that tie has a single pleat beneath the knot and ends just above the belt.
  9. Practice until you can tie it in 30 seconds without a mirror.
Also try the Four-In-Hand knot .

Silver Tie Bar

A silver tie bar is an accessory that enhances your tie-wearing experience by attaching your tie to your dress shirt, preventing it from shifting and getting in your way as you move around. A classic silver tie bar.
During interaction, the tie bar helps you relax with confidence knowing that your tie is aligned. Reaching down to adjust your tie will make you visibly nervous.

Remove Ties Slowly Every Day

Never leave a tie tied as this will damage it. Never yank your tie off in haste. Take the time to repeat in reverse order all of the steps you followed to tie your tie. To store your tie and remove wrinkles, hold the narrow end of your tie with your thumb, wrap the wide end around your hand and then place the wrapped-up tie on a flat surface for a couple of hours.

Take particular care of ties as stains can be removed only by dry-cleaning which ruins the silk’s luster, so take care of your ties.
