tor is a wonderful idea, and used properly can be extremely effective. however, there are a couple things you want to keep in mind while using the onion router. many applications will bypass tor and do direct dns resolution requests. this is a bad thing, because those dns queries will give you away. these dns leaks can be fixed using proxify or torify, and the newest version seeks to eliminate them altogether, but it is worth mentioning. just check your settings carefully and make sure you understand the tools you are using. don't want to lull yourself into a false sense of security. -cid 0wn yourself
