Web proxying helps mask the web sites you browse to your firewall and spies. You should use a web proxy before you visit sensitive web sites of groups that could be monitoring you or watched by others monitoring them.

Using Web Proxies

  1. Open your web browser such as Firefox.
  2. Visit a web proxy site you trust such as hidemyass.com(trustworthiness unknown).  
  3. Type the address of the web site you want to visit into the proxy instead of the address bar of your web browser itself.
  4. Success! You should now be browsing through the proxy, letting you see things your firewall blocks and preventing the site from knowing your IP address.

Caution

Web proxies do not completely gaurantee your anonymity or security! Anything you transmit through the proxy that is personally identifying can still give you away.
